Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). We ask only for what we need to answer you and arrange a sale.

Who is responsible

What we collect

When you enquire: your name, your phone number or email, and anything you choose to tell us in your message or over WhatsApp.
When you buy: the delivery address or collection details needed to get the item to you, and the reference or proof of payment for your EFT. We never see or store your card number or online-banking login.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information to reply to your enquiry and arrange a sale (to take steps at your request and to perform the sale), to issue and keep invoices and records (to meet legal obligations such as tax), and to prevent fraud and protect our business (our legitimate interest). We do not use your information for third-party marketing.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your information. We share it only where needed to serve you or to comply with the law: with the courier company (delivery details) if you choose courier; with our bank in the ordinary course of an EFT; and with authorities such as SARS where the law requires. If you contact us on WhatsApp, your messages are handled by Meta under its own terms, and may be processed on servers outside South Africa.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry messages that do not lead to a sale for up to about 12 months. Where a sale takes place, we keep the invoice and related records for at least five years, as tax law requires. After that we delete or anonymise the information.

How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe and to limit who can see it. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we act to protect your information and to deal promptly with any compromise.

Cookies and tracking

This site is a simple catalogue. It does not set advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. Your browser may store basic technical data needed to display the pages.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to give you access to the information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, and to stop or object to a particular use. You may also withdraw a consent you have given. To do any of these, email us at hello@veratec.co.za. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The version on this page is the one that applies.
